LETTER: Here’s what a ‘fine-tuned machine’ looks 30 days into the presidency

Here is a short summary of President Donald Trump’s first 30 days in office:

• Bragged about the inauguration crowd size — later proved false.

• A top aide gave us “alternative facts.”

• Made telephone calls to heads of state that ended in insults.

• Flip-flopped on a “one China“ policy.

• Flip-flopped on a two-state solution to the Israeli/Palestinian crisis.

• Issued an International Holocaust Remembrance Day statement without mentioning Jews.

• Rolled out a travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries that resulted in global chaos.

• Selected Cabinet nominees, most of whom have zero qualifications to lead their missions.

• Antagonized the U.S. intelligence community.

• Had “full confidence” in his national security adviser [Michael Flynn], then fired him hours later.

• Refused to acknowledge communications between his campaign staff and Russian intelligence.

• Refused to release his tax returns, which would show any business ties to Russia.

• Rolled back protections for streams and rivers from coal runoff.

• Wants to roll back protections for consumers from fraud and greed.

• Wants to eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts.

This is what a “fine-tuned machine” looks like.
