In a time of so much anger and negativity, my faith in goodness and honesty has been restored.
Yesterday, I went to Costco to return an item.
While in line I decided to make a withdrawal from the cash machine to finish up some Christmas shopping.
Just as I was finishing my transaction, it was my turn at the desk.
I grabbed my money, receipts and item to be returned and presented to the desk with my hands full and fumbling in my purse for my Costco and credit cards.
After my return I just stuffed it all in my purse and joined my husband in the store.
As we were pulling out of the parking lot I received a call from Costco asking if I had just returned an item at the desk.
When I replied yes, I was told I had dropped a sum of money in front of the desk and needed to come back to claim it.
Indeed I had dropped $200 which was picked up and turned in by a gentleman behind me in line.
Then John, who had handled my return, remembered the situation, tracked me down through my card and called.
I am so grateful for the honest person who found the money and to John, and Costco, who took the time to find me and return my money.
People are good and we are blessed to live in community where where they are abundant.
Merry Christmas to all.
