LETTER: Hospital levy too much

I read the thorough article about Clallam County Hospital District #2’s proposed levy lid lift in the PDN’s Friday edition.

What disturbs me about this levy lid lift is why is there no pursuit to get higher funding reimbursement for Medicare and Medicaid.

If OMC received the same proportion as Jefferson Healthcare hospital, a much smaller increase placed on property owners would be warranted.

I’m happy to pay a little more, but not as much as this ballot measure has.

Coincidently, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, D-Seattle, was in the county recently for tribal funding.

Why didn’t OMC CEO Darryl Wolfe try to get a meeting with her to fix the low reimbursement rate?

Start with that, then come to the voters.

Until then, I’m a no on this measure.
