After being unsuccessful in my bid for the district hospital commission in Jefferson County, I have decided to endorse Cheri Van Hoover for the position in the November election.
I believe that Cheri’s experience as a health care professional and service provider give her the background to advance the quality of care for our community.
I think her deep understanding of and research on health care policy will greatly assist the commission in moving toward its ambitious goals of incorporating mental health and substance abuse treatment, and improving access to care for other “underserved” community members.
Her knowledge of “single payer” options used successfully in other countries, and her support for the concept in Washington and the U.S., make her the candidate I can support without reservation.
