I read with interest the New York Times article extolling the Biden administration’s year-long effort to crack down on delinquent wealthy taxpayers (Page A8, PDN, July 12).
The administration gave the IRS $60 billion in taxpayer money to modernize its customer service and to beef up enforcement.
The yield, as reported, was an increase of $1 billion in tax collections from wealthy tax evaders.
Only a federal government program could be handed $60 billion of our money, get $1 billion in return and declare it a success.
