I would like to agree with the letter writer who suggested we send Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals students who are healthy and well-educated back to their home countries so they can help improve those places.
I have worked as a nurse in several third-world countries and the best way to help these places improve the lives of their residents is to see that their children receive health care and education.
They also need to be encouraged to stay in their home country and improve their lives there.
Please remember that the founders of our country were well-educated men who came here speaking the same language with ideas of establishing freedom and justice for like-minded people.
The best service organization I have worked with and supported — RAFIKI — exists in 10 African nations to give health care and education to children, according to its website.
They also instill pride and patriotism for their country of origin so that these children will stay in their home country and work to improve life for others there.
I totally disagree with President Donald Trump and his idea that we should keep the brightest and best immigrants here in our country.
We should be willing to not only share money with impoverished countries but brainpower of their youth with them, also.
