LETTER: Sequim residents don’t have a say in what happens in community

From Sequim

We just finished reading the MAT article in the PDN.

It was very interesting to note that our entire community of Sequim does not have “legal standing,” but an arrogant, self-entitled special interest (Jamestown Tribe) does.

We were hoping for some justice from the hearing examiner, Phil Olbrehts, but then realized that he was appointed by our city council.

This is the gang that started and perpetuated this mess.

We will say this again, we residents of Sequim have no standing or voice in what happens to our community.

We are required to have a major drug distribution facility (MAT) in our city and live with it.

The only hope going forward with this approval process is that the judge that will hear the land use case may be fair.

However, it appears that no matter the level of the approval process, the tribe owns it.

And to those individuals that believe that a tribal leader, Vicki Lowe, should be chosen to fill the vacant Sequim city council seat, are you crazy?

The tribe already appears to own our council and you want to make it official.

It is time to start taking back our community.

No to Ms. Lowe and no tribe drug distribution facility.
