LETTER: StreamFest Thanks

When my husband, Jim Mantooth, and I retired after a dozen years of hosting StreamFest at our Ennis Arbor Farm, we didn’t imagine the event would live again.

But the third annual Forever StreamFest on Sept. 21 was the best ever.

Some 50 organizations provided displays and activities at the City’s Pebble Beach Park (sŋaʔŋáʔant cáwŋən ʔəssaqɬúŋt in Klallam) about how we can give back to our exceptional environment — all life, including people.

It’s won at least a half-dozen awards national and regional awards and Port Angeles Garden Club members already are using their organizational abilities, time, talents and financial resources to plan the fourth Forever StreamFest for next fall.

Activities on its website show it is living up to its pledge: “Tending Our Gardens Beyond Our Backyards.”

We benefit from Forever StreamFest’s organizers and participants as we try to learn more about taking care of our surroundings and each other.
