I am writing regarding the letter “Students shamelessly used” (3/18, Peninsula Daily News).
I don’t know how well the letter writer knows [Port Angeles High student] Emily Menshew or how much time the writer personally discussed this issue with Emily.
Or she may have guessed who may have influenced Emily’s opinion.
But Emily has every right to state her opinion and feelings on gun control issues.
My best guess is that Emily was strongly influenced by her peers, the articulate and passionate students from Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.
Emily, I encourage you to always listen to all opinions.
Then make your own decision on this very important issue.
Then continue to make your voice heard.
