LETTER: Supports King for sheriff

I have been the mental health therapist for the Clallam County Corrections Facility for the past two and a half years.

While working in the jail with the sheriff’s office deputies, I have had the pleasure of getting to know Chief Criminal Deputy Brian King.

Brian is a candidate for Sheriff Bill Benedict’s position since Sheriff Benedict is retiring this fall.

As an insider, I can vouch for the excellent qualities that Brian King will bring to this position.

Brian is an intelligent, well respected, caring, forthright and very capable individual and I trust him with my life and livelihood.

Brian has the education, experience and skills to unwaveringly administer the high-quality standards currently in place.

Additionally, he has the visionary capability to pioneer new programs and practices that will enhance community safety and well-being into the future.

The sheriff’s office, including the jail, is essential to the peace and security of the entirety of Clallam County.

I urge the people of Clallam County to vote for Brian King if they want the issues they care about addressed with the gravity, energy and compassion needed to serve this diverse community well.
