On Nov. 11, America remembers our veterans.
We pause to appreciate their service to all of us, and to reflect on the sacrifices they made, and are making, so that we can enjoy freedom. About one-third of Port Angeles Police Department’s officers are veterans representing all branches of the military.
This Veterans Day, we miss one of our police officers who is deployed in the Middle East.
In addition to serving our community, Officer Eric Walker also serves his country as a captain in the Army Reserve.
We are proud to serve alongside Officer Walker when he is here with us, and we wish Captain Walker a safe return when his mission is accomplished.
Godspeed brother.
Officer Eric Walker began his career with the Port Angeles Police Department in 2017. While serving in Port Angeles, he has been awarded three Lifesaving Medals.
Prior to being hired in Port Angeles, Eric worked for the Spokane Police Department.
Prior to joining the Army Reserve, and achieving the rank of captain, Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Eastern Washington University. While Eric was a college student, he was also in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. From 2002 to 2006, Eric was in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.
