LETTER: Vote in election

There is less than a month until Election Day.

There have been thousands of hours of media coverage about the national candidates and door knockers with local candidate information lately.

I hope everyone has become educated about the candidates and is ready to vote.

Clallam County ballots and the voters’ pamphlet have arrived.

Our job is almost done. It’s time to vote for the candidates who will represent us and our values once elected.

The ballots need to be postmarked by Nov. 5, but it is a good idea to get them filled out, signed and returned to the Clallam County Auditor’s office by Oct. 28.

There are two ways to return your completed, signed ballots: Drop it in a mailbox, no postage required, or find a local ballot drop-off box to deposit your ballot.

If you are not a registered voter and would like to vote in this election, there is still time to register to vote.

It’s possible to register online at www.votewa.gov by Oct. 28 or in person at Clallam County Elections Office at 223 E. Fourth St., Suite 1, Port Angeles, before 8 p.m. on Nov. 5.

I am looking forward to some peaceful post-election time, and I am hopeful Clallam County will have the highest voter turnout ever.

Do your part and vote.

Eileen Cummings
