I am surprised that the Peninsula Daily has not covered an event happening in our beautiful town of Port Angeles.
A group of our concerned neighbors has been holding weekly gatherings in support of Planned Parenthood.
Women’s health care has been in the news as the Republicans move forward with plans to defund Planned Parenthood.
There is a lot of misinformation about Planned Parenthood, such as the untrue claim of “selling body parts.”
Their emphasis is women’s health, including cancer screenings.
They provide information on many topics, including birth control and prenatal care.
And, yes, abortion is sometimes necessary, but not a focus of Planned Parenthood.
Health is.
As a man, I appreciate that some of Planned Parenthood’s clients are men.
Also, as a man, I take no stand on abortion.
I trust that a woman, along with her professional (un-gagged) doctor, her family, clergy and friends can make decisions about her own health.
We all expect the same for ourselves, don’t we?
