Doesn’t see point
Hurrah, Gov. Jay Inslee has moved the end date for the state’s indoor mask mandate up to March 12.
But wait, as usual, there is a catch.
The mandate will remain in place for health care facilities, hospitals, long-term care settings, public transit, taxis, rideshares and correctional facilities.
I defy any health care bureaucrat to rationally explain why indoor masks will be optional for schools, childcare facilities, libraries, restaurants, bars, houses of worship, gyms, grocery stores, businesses and retail establishments but will remain mandatory for government-related health care facilities and transportation.
I think the difference cannot be explained medically, but it can be explained politically.
The government likes its “permanent emergency” powers and can’t bear to give them up completely.
Forcing citizens to continue wearing masks in government-related facilities is just a clever way to daily and visually remind the public that the government can re-impose its diktats any time it darn well pleases, be they mask mandates, lockdowns, shot mandates, vaccine passports, social distancing, et al.
Don’t put up with it, Clallam County. Insist that the indoor mask mandate be ended for all facilities.
Reclaim your freedom while you still have a chance.
