This recent Clallam County election, if one can actually call it that, is a travesty of justice and shameful mockery of the election process.
I mean it doesn’t even meet the definition of an election because 80 percent of the people running are running alone. No other person even wants those positions, so how’s that an election of the citizens when no one wants the job but one person?
These positions that no one even attempts to run for but one person should be incorporated into the city government employment pool and given to an employee to officiate as a regular city job, not an election position that draws from city monies for a job no one wants to run for but one person.
It’s a matter of meet the new boss, same as the old boss and nothing changes.
Isn’t the whole process of voting someone into office to insure positive change when the old person didn’t really do the job all that well, so now we have a chance to change things to something better, I mean hopefully that is?
I’m not voting in this election because I don’t want any negativity attributed to my vote when I didn’t really have a choice in who to vote for.
Nothings gonna change officially, so why bother? Might as well live in China under the Chinese Communist Party where they just tell you who is in power.
This isn’t an election, it’s an illusion of an election.
