Running for public office is the most challenging decision you will ever make.
You go to public debates and forums, tell your story and humble yourself and ask the audience to respect you and like you enough to spend their precious vote for you.
It is a daunting task, and it takes courage and a really thick skin.
Thank you, all candidates.
I’ve chosen to support Jim Haguewood for Port Angeles City Council Position 5.
Jim has worked for our community for years.
First, emptying parking meters with Jean Fairchild for the Port Angeles Downtown Association.
He and his family cooked crab for the Crab Festival for more than 10 years.
They all now volunteer to coach athletic teams of all ages.
We worked together to raise funds and to plan the Winter Ice Village for the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce.
Haguewood has been a leader and president of the chamber and oversaw a new direction for that organization.
He’s been a leader in supporting the new landscape for downtown.
As a real estate broker, he assisted me in selling my home and buying my new home.
He worked to sell my commercial building successfully, with integrity and honesty, and he made my fears and insecurities a priority no matter what time or day of the week.
After watching Jim give of his many talents and hard work on behalf of our community, I know he is the best choice for my precious vote.
