Archaeological excavations topic for online discussion

David Brownell presents “Archaeological Excavations at the Jamestown Tribal Veterans Memorial”

BLYN — David Brownell will present “Archaeological Excavations at the Jamestown Tribal Veterans Memorial” at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The free, online presentation is sponsored by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library in collaboration with the North Olympic Historical Society.

Brownell, the executive director of the history center, will discuss the discovery of an 1,100 year old archaeological site during excavations for the Jamestown Tribal Veterans Memorial.

He will show some of the artifacts recovered from the site and discuss what they can teach about the life of the S’Klallam people on Sequim Bay.
