PORT ANGELES — The Rev. Laura Murray will lead the Blessing of the Animals at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Murray, from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, will bless furry, scaled or winged critters at the Gateway Transit Center, 123 E. Front St.
The annual blessings are performed in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the 12th Century patron saint of animals and the environment.
Peninsula Friends of the Animals, a cageless, no-kill, non-profit animal welfare group, will provide information about their work.
The free event is open to the public; donations of cat food or kitty litter for PFOA are welcome.
