Book discussion groups set for North Olympic libraries

PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Library System will host book discussions in person and online this month.

Three of the groups are meeting on different weeks this month: the Second Saturday group will actually meet on the third Saturday and the Novel Conversations and Wednesday Evening groups will meet a week early.

The Novel Conversations and Wednesday Evening groups will also meet a week early in December.

• The Second Tuesday Book Discussion Group will meet online at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, to discuss “Less” by Andrew Sean Greer.

Paperback copies are available for pickup at the Port Angeles Library.

In December, the group will discuss “Exhalation” by Ted Chiang.

• The Second Saturday Book Discussion Group will meet at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Sequim Branch Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

The group will discuss “Entangled Life” by Merlin Sheldrake.

Paperback copies are available for pickup at the Sequim Library.

The group will discuss “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate in December.

• The Novel Conversations Book Discussion Group is set to meet online at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, to talk about “When the Emperor was Divine” by Julie Otsuka.

Paperback copies are available for pickup at the Sequim Library.

The group plans to discuss “On Tyranny” by Timothy Snyder in December.

• The Wednesday Evening Book Discussion Group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Carver Room at the Port Angeles Main Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles.

The group will discuss “Afterlife” by Julia Alvarez.

Paperback copies are available for pickup at the Port Angeles Library.

Its December selection is “The Samurai’s Garden” by Gail Tsukiyama.

Registration, at www.nols.org, is required to join the online meetings and is recommended for the in-person discussions.
