SEQUIM — Claire Capriola presents “Cannabis 101: Using Cannabis as Medicine” at the next WOW! Working on Wellness Radio Forum set for 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9.

The presentation will be on KSQM 91.5 FM.

Capriola graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 1985 and her pharmacy career extends over 35 years. She said she’s dedicated to providing quality patient care and services, and she often draws upon her network of contacts and resources to find solutions for patients.

Capriola has spent the past five years working as a clinical pharmacist at Jamestown Family Health Clinic. She also owns CLAIRESRX, LLC, which contracts with Cedar Greens Cannabis Dispensary in Blyn every other Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

She provides information and education regarding the use of cannabis as medicine to Cedar Greens clients and staff.

Since practicing in this community, Capriola has noticed an increase in people interested in using natural supplements to help treat illness and disease.

She believes the subject of how cannabis can be used as medicine is a current and innovative topic for discussion, forum organizers said.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic — Sequim’s free clinic, which provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members. Work is supported by more than 70 volunteers including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5 p.m. Individuals interested in supporting the clinic may call 360-582-0218.
