SEQUIM — An exciting era of the nation’s past will come to life as the Green River Mountain Men group presents its annual rendezvous this weekend.
The rendezvous will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Peninsula Long Rifle property on Slab Camp Road.
Admission is free; shooter’s fee is $20 per person for those 13 and older.
Re-enactments
The re-enactment of the annual fur trappers’ gatherings in the early 1800s will feature historical-style campsites, traders and period-dressed re-enactors with things to see and hands-on opportunities for the entire family.
Activities will include black-powder shoots, primitive archery, seminars on a wide variety of fur trade skills and lore, music, children’s activities and a traders’ row.
The Green River Mountain Men is a nonprofit organization of men and women dedicated to educating the community about the pre-1840s fur trade era.
