THIS WEEK THERE is live music all over the Peninsula, but in Port Angeles, it may be little crabby.
Port Angeles
• The ninth annual Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival will inundate downtown Friday and Saturday with the sweet and savory aromas of fresh crab, salmon, oysters and more accompanied by live music from local favorites as well as out-of-town bands.
Headlining is internationally known Pearl Django and their “Hot Club” jazz. Deadwood Revival, Armstrong Lawton Katz, Crescent Blue and the Jacksons, the Alternators, Cort Armstrong and Jangle Bones, Howly Slim and Da Boyz, Watch the Sky and Kevin Magner and Bound to Happen also will grace the festival stage under the big tent in the Port Angeles CrabHouse Restaurant parking lot, Lincoln Street and Railroad Avenue, Saturday and Sunday. • On Saturday at Kokopelli’s Underground, 203 E. Front St., following Crabfest music, groove to Prun’d for a real rock ‘n’ roll experience at 8 p.m. Steve, Paul and Declan from SuperTrees make up this band. $3 cover.
Tonight, Howly Slim performs vocal and guitar at 6 p.m. and again Sunday with George Radebaugh at 5 p.m.
• Also following Crabfest Saturday night, Seattle-based recording artist Rose Laughlin brings her Celtic folk stylings to the intimate environs of Wine on the Waterfront, 115 Railroad Ave., from 8 p.m. $5 cover.
On Friday night, Sarah Shea and Chez Jazz return for another night of classy, sophisticated jazz from 8 p.m. $5 cover.
• Charlie Ferris returns to the second-Monday stage at the Bushwhacker Restaurant, 1527 E. First St., with his renderings of classic rock ‘n’ roll, pop and country tunes from the golden age of American popular music, with vignettes and insights into each and every tune, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Tonight at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, the Sundowners host a jam from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. These fellas really know how to have fun!
• Barry Burnett and Cindy Mae Lowder host the talent showcase today at the RBar, 132 E. Front St., from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tom Svornich will be the rhythm master on drums. Musicians of all genres are welcome.
• On Sunday, Barry Burnett will be doing his Sunday Jam from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Junction Roadhouse, junction of U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 112 five miles west of Port Angeles.
On Wednesday, Jason and friends play roots music and more from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
• Dave and Rosalie SecordSSRqs Luck of the Draw Band and performing guest Naki`i, will be playing a variety of music Wednesday at Smugglers Landing Restaurant and Lounge, 115 Railroad Ave., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come join the fun!
• Tonight and every Thursday, Larry and Rene Bauer direct the goings on at the open mic hosted by the Cracked Bean, 108 DelGuzzi Drive, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Welcome to the live music mix.
• Victor Reventlow hosts the acoustic jam at the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 W. U.S. Highway 101, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• On Friday night, The Veela Cafe, 133 E. First St., has Jim Lind providing both rock and country, fast and slow, from his impressive repertoire, at 7:30 p.m.
• Every Tuesday evening, the Port Angeles Senior Swingers present Wally and the Boys playing ballroom dance favorites for the dancing pleasure of all adults 45 years and older from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Port Angeles Senior Center, Seventh and Peabody streets. $5 cover, first-timers free.
• Craig Logue hosts the open mic and plays a tune, too, at The Coo-Coo Nest, 1916 E. First St., Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
Joyce
• Dirty Joe hosts the open mic at the Salt Creek Restaurant and Lounge, state Highway 112 and Camp Hayden Road, today and every Thursday at 9 p.m.
Sequim and Blyn
• Tonight, don’t miss the jam hosted by Chantilly Lace at the Oasis Sports Bar and Grill, 301 E. Washington St., from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Any Thursday night you’ll find some of the best jammers from your favorite bands joining in the fun. Classic rock and country from the ’50s and ’60s, blues and pop from later decades are all in the broad repertoire honed over 35 years. Jammers: Come in early and sign in on the sign-up sheet.
On Friday, Gil Yslas and Rick May perform from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Monday’s dance night features Cat’s Meow with Diane Beegle, with Linda Dowdell, piano; Howie Gilbert, drums; Mike Beegle, sax; and, all the way from Portland, Ore., Larry Burnett, playing for your dancing and dining pleasure from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Next Wednesday, Final Approach plays boomer music from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Howly Slim performs at Alderwood Bistro, 139 Alder St., every Tuesday, weather permitting, at 5 p.m.
• On Saturday, Howly Slim will be at Las Palomas Mexican Restaurant, 1085 E. Washington St., at 5 p.m.
• At The Buzz, 128 N. Sequim Ave., Kelly Thomas hosts the very popular and rousing open mic Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Jimmy Hoffman performs solo in Stymie’s Bar & Grill at Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road, Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• On Friday in Club Seven Lounge at 7 Cedars Casino, Blyn, catch The Move. It’s some “New Jack City” with a little hip-hop and rap thrown in from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
On Sunday, country up to the Jimmy Hoffman Band and Jimmy’s country rock and blues, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Port Hadlock
• Tonight, Buzz Rogowski plays jazz and originals at the Ajax Cafe, 271 Water St., from 6 p.m.
On Sunday, Jim Nyby plays blues, ballads, jazz and soul at 5:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, Jess is styling on the piano at 6 p.m.
Port Townsend
• On Friday, the Kolvane Blues Band plays the Upstage, 923 Washington St., at 8 p.m. $10 cover.
On Saturday, Dragstrip Riot plays rock ‘n’ roll the way it was meant to be at 8:30 p.m. $5 cover.
On Wednesday, Pete Herzog plays roots and blues at 7:30 p.m. Pete is an old-school, back-porch picker blending folk and blues. $6 cover.

• On Sunday, chase the Ambulance beginning at 9 p.m. at Sirens pub, 823 Water St., $5.
Music news
• On Saturday, the Washington Old Time Fiddlers play live music at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim. All players jam, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., performance, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Free and open to the public. Donations support fiddler scholarships.
