Mural protection

PORT ANGELES — Zack Rehler of Port Angeles-based B & R Painting adds a layer of clear coating to the “Olympic Visions” mural behind the Conrad Dyar Memorial Fountain at First and Laurel streets in downtown Port Angeles on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

The mural, sponsored by Nor’Wester Rotary and the Port Angeles Downtown Association, also was cleaned as part of the process to protect the artwork.

Originally painted by Sequim artist Tim Quinn in 1999, the mural was re-painted by artists Jackson Smart and Dani LaBlond in 2010 after Quinn’s death.
