NEWS BRIEFS: Unity guest speaker set for weekend … and other items

PORT ANGELES — The Rev. Bill Evans will present “Doubting Thomas: I Doubt It!” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Evans will be the guest speaker at Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle Ave.

Sunday service begins at 10 a.m.

Book launch

PORT ANGELES — Vykki Morrison has announced the release of her new book “God, I Love You; Prayers, Praise and Promises from the Soul.”

Morrison suggests that readers use her prayers as templates for circumstances of their own lives.

The book is available locally at Port Book and News, 104 E. First St. and the One of a Kind Gallery, 115 E. Railroad Ave., Suite 105.

Grateful Harmony

PORT TOWNSEND — The Rev. Simon de Voil will join with guest artists Kate Copeland and Kirsten Maxwell for a concert from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.

The concert, part of the Grateful Harmony series, will be held at the Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center, 3918 San Juan Ave.

Tickets are priced on a sliding scale from $5 to $20.

Book workshop

PORT ANGELES — The Rev. Herbert O’Driscoll will present “Songlines of Holy Scripture” from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 11.

The workshop will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 510 E. Park Ave.

Registration is required for the workshop which also includes lunch.

O’Driscoll is promoting his new book, “A Greening of Imagination” and copies will be available for purchase.

O’Driscoll also will preach at the church’s 10 a.m. service May 12.
