Parenting class set for Wednesdays

PORT ANGELES — Rachel Hardies will present “Up Your Parenting Game: Support Yourself and Your Family” from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 16, Feb. 23, March 2 and March 9.

The free, online parenting classes are sponsored by Prevention Works!

Hardies is a mental health counselor at New Growth Counseling Service.

Attendees will gain an understanding of how the nervous system works, learn how to use that knowledge to help their children, gain an understanding of youth development, learn the attentive play process called Being N.E.A.R. to improve your relationship with their children and explore ways to respond to typical child behaviors such as aggression, whining, not doing what they are asked and helping with transitions.

These classes are geared toward parents with children aged 10-years or younger; a second session for parents with children aged 11- to 18-years will be announced in March.

Participants should register at www.eventbrite.com, search for “Up your parenting game.”
