Maren Santiago, left, of Tacoma and Tracy Grisman of Port Townsend were part of Litterati, a group of 12 women who dressed up to pick up litter Friday in Port Townsend.
“The purpose of doing it on Black Friday is to bring attention to the fact that people are buying things they may or may not need and all are in wrapping paper,” said Grisman, who organized the event.
The group wanted to collect litter before it gets in the water.
They dressed in finery to show respect for Mother Nature. The group said it plans to continue its environmental cleanup work throughout the city.
