Volunteers needed for tree planting along Dungeness River

EDITOR’S NOTE: Because the ground is frozen, this event has been rescheduled for January 28. The time, date and place details will be the same, according to organizers. For information, see below.

SEQUIM — The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and North Olympic Salmon Coalition seek volunteers to plant native trees along the Dungeness River on Saturday and Sunday.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days and will include light refreshments and hot drinks.

One year ago, the tribe purchased the property with funding from Puget Sound Acquisition & Restoration and Floodplains by Design.

Tools and gloves will be provided but are in limited supply, so volunteers are urged to bring their own, as well as warm, waterproof clothes and boots, water and a lunch.

To receive directions, RSVP to Olivia at outreach@nosc.org or phone 360-379-8051.
