PORT TOWNSEND — Carolers will stroll the streets and businesses will offer specials celebrating national Small Business Saturday as part of the Holiday Merchant Open House on Saturday.
Participating businesses will stay open late, and many will provide refreshments for shoppers, according to the Port Townsend Main Street Program.
Each American Express customer who signs up in advance at www.shopsmall.com can receive a $25 credit on his or her bill for spending $25 or more at a participating small business Saturday only.
The Wild Rose Chorale will stroll the streets of downtown and uptown from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Shoppers can enter the Hometown Holiday Sweepstakes at 32 participating businesses on Water or Taylor streets for a chance to win one of two $500 shopping sprees at local businesses.
Entries are open until noon Saturday, Dec. 1.
The winner will be announced after the community Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Haller Fountain.
