SEQUIM — Two families — one wacky and happy, the other strait-laced and appalled — collide in “You Can’t Take It with You,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning play opening this week at Olympic Theatre Arts.
A discount preview performance is set for tonight at 7:30 at the OTA playhouse, 414 N. Sequim Ave. Admission is $8 per person or free for OTA members, and tickets will be available at the door only.
“You Can’t Take It with You” is Moss Hart’s and George S. Kaufman’s 1936 play, made into a movie in 1938 with James Stewart, Jean Arthur and Lionel Barrymore.
In Sequim, the 19-member cast features Olivia Shea, Charisa Silliman, Miles Carignan, Aaron Elkins, Lee Harwell and Dave McInnes. Opening night is Friday.
The show plays through Nov. 20, with curtain times at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets will be $16.50 for adults, $14.50 for OTA members and active-duty military service people, and $11.50 for students 16 and younger.
