One Sequim High senior will drive home in a new car, thanks to local auto dealer

New addition to dealership family allows them to give back even more

Graduation will bring more than a diploma to one lucky Sequim High School student. Continuing a six-year-old tradition, one local grad will also win a car, donated by Rocha Family Auto Sales!

“When starting a business in a small town like Sequim, supporting the community has always been a huge part of our vision,” says Rocha Family Auto Sales owner Micheal Rocha. “We’re very passionate about giving back.”

At the senior graduation party June 14, a 2015 Chevy Spark EV will be just one of many prizes awarded. It will be the first electric, zero emissions vehicle given away by the dealer.

“There will be a lot of gifts given out that night,” Rocha says. “The very last one will be the car, which all seniors who attend are eligible to win. We’ll draw a name, and one lucky graduate goes home with a car!”

The Rocha Family grows

Adding to the exciting news, Rocha is also proud to share another big announcement: they’re now the proud owners of Sequim Auto Repair.

Serving Sequim for 35 years, the longtime automotive repair shop was due to close as former owner Marv Fowler prepared for retirement. Rocha and Fowler, who’d worked together for nearly a decade leading up to Fowler’s retirement, found another solution.

“I run all my cars through their repair shop – about 30 cars a month. He told me that I might need to find a new shop as he wasn’t able to find a buyer. After looking for alternative providers, I couldn’t find a shop that could sustain my dealership’s volume,” Rocha says.

Buying the repair shop was the perfect solution as it and the dealership can now independently support one another and the community.

While the repair shop has a new owner, Rocha says local customers can expect the same great service that they are used to.

“We are the only Napa Gold facility in the area, that allows us to offer our customers a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty nationwide through Napa for parts and labor. No one else has a warranty like that in Sequim.”

While unexpected at first, welcoming the shop to the Rocha Family Auto family has helped them provide to those that matter most: their community.

Having the auto shop under the Rocha banner offers additional opportunities give back, including the donation of newer vehicles, such as the 2015 Chevy Spark EV going one lucky Sequim High School grad
