PORT ANGELES — A homeless man alleged to have lived in someone else’s home while the occupant was on vacation has been charged with burglary.
Cory R. Seaman, 27, was charged Monday in Clallam County Superior Court.
On Oct. 26, Philip Mesidov came home from vacation to find Seaman sleeping on his couch, said Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Cameron with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
Mesidov, who lives south of Sequim, had been out of town for about three weeks, he said.
“He [Mesidov] found that he had eaten a lot of his frozen food,” Cameron said.
Seaman consumed about $100 worth of food, beer and wine, according to court documents.
Cameron said Seaman told authorities that he is an acquaintance of Mesidov and found him gone when he came by the home.
“So he stayed there a few days,” he said.
Seaman stayed for about three days and entered through an unlocked window, according to court documents.
