In the accompanying photo, seen waving to the crowd at Saturday’s 80th Port Townsend Rhododendron Festival Grand Parade are, from left, 2015 Rhody Queen Sam Smith and Princesses Lillian Kelly, Morgan Chaffee and Deidra Morris.

The float led the 113-entry parade, which was followed by a Cake Picnic at Pope Marine Park.

In the other photo (click on arrow at upper right), the float from Olympia, “Fabulous Family Fun,” won the Admiralty Award and is followed by a group representing Jefferson Healthcare hospital.

The festival continues today with an Elks pancake breakfast, the second day of a golf tournament and the 39th annual Rhody Run at Fort Worden State Park.
