Today is the day that runners can stretch their legs in the 12K Rhody Run while enjoying views of the mountains, woods and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
The 77th annual Rhododendron Festival culminates today after a weekend that included bed races, a performance by the Navy Northwest Band after the Kiddie Parade and a Grand Parade.
Today’s 34th Rhody Run will start and finish at Fort Worden State Park, with registration at 9 a.m., the run beginning at 11 a.m. and the awards ceremony at 1:30 p.m.
Also today is an Elks Rhody Fundraiser Pancake Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St.; the second day of the Jim Caldwell Memorial Rhody Open, starting at 9 a.m. at the Port Townsend Golf Club, 1948 Blaine St.; and the second day of the Rhododendron Flower Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fort Worden Chapel.
