About 2,000 electricity customers in Clallam County remained in the dark on Tuesday, while Jefferson County customers were back on the grid after Monday’s windstorm.
Christina Mills, Puget Sound Energy spokeswoman, said power in Jefferson County was fully restored to customers by 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Clallam Public Utility District engineer Dave Proebstel could give no estimate when power would be restored to all his cut-off customers.
Areas remaining without power Tuesday evening were concentrated in the western part of the county, including Neah Bay, south of Forks, Lake Crescent, the south shore of Lake Sutherland, west of Joyce and Lower Elwha Road.
And for some, being without power meant being without water.
“We’re on a water pump,” said Cathy Benzler at Four Seasons Park east of Port Angeles, on Tuesday morning, “so we have no water, too.”
Cell phone and Internet service, disrupted after a fiber optic line was severed in Jefferson County, was restored by Tuesday.
