Holly Hudson, 17, receives the queen’s crown from 2008 Queen Jennifer Lancheros at the climax of the 114th annual Sequim Irrigation Festival’s pageant Saturday night.

Hudson, who is captain of Sequim High School’s varsity cheerleading squad, will wave from the “Sequim: A Magical Place” float in some 17 parades across the Pacific Northwest along with princesses Meghan Gammel, Lindsay Merrell and Elisha Elliott.

The four 17-year-olds were chosen from eight candidates.

Gammel received the Tracy Sofie Miss Congeniality award.
