POTLATCH — One lane of U.S. Highway 101 has been reopened after a mudslide Sunday forced the closure of the highway at Milepost 333 along Hood Canal in Mason County.
The state Department of Transportation said mud and debris came down on both lanes Sunday morning near Cedardale Lane in the unincorporated community of Potlatch.
One lane was reopened at about 3:45 p.m.
An alternate route to Olympia from the North Olympic Peninsula is to take the Hood Canal Bridge to state Highway 3, then follow Highway 3 south to Shelton and Highway 101 south to Olympia.
