BLYN — Even though he was at the highest level of management at 7 Cedars Casino, there were times during late 1995 and early 1996 that Jerry Allen wondered if he’d still be employed and whether the tribal business venture would survive.
“Those were certainly the dark times,” Assistant General Manager Allen recalls.
The casino has survived, even flourished, since then.
In fact, 7 Cedars is making a profit, although managers would not comment specifically on the amount of money the casino is bringing in.
The only tribal casino on the North Olympic Peninsula, 7 Cedars opened Feb. 4, 1995, with an explosion of fireworks, amid predictions of financial success that would help not only the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe but the entire community.
