PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend American Association of University Women — already the largest AAUW branch in the state — has been named one of four “platinum” branches by the state AAUW organization.
“The four top chapters received platinum awards,” Judy Blair, branch co-president, announced Saturday at a meeting at the Port Townsend Yacht Club.
The awards were presented at the AAUW’s state convention in Olympia on April 26.
The Port Townsend branch was rated first in visibility, leadership and communication and third in future plans and goals, out of 36 branches in the state, Blair said.
Only the Walla Walla branch had more points than Port Townsend, Blair said.
