Clallam County Environmental Health Department Director Tania Busch-Weak says the possible E. coli linked to Evergreen Meats Inc. of Port Angeles appears to have been contained.

“All of the customers have been notified,”‘ she said Monday, “but we will be verifying them tomorrow morning.”

“People need to cook their hamburgers thoroughly,” she said, noting “there should be no pink left inside.

“If you have a meat thermometer, make sure that (the meat is) cooked well above 155 degrees. Make sure the juices are clear.”
