AGNEW — Investigators on Thursday continued to sift through the house where a 55-year-old woman was found dead this week.
Clallam County sheriff’s detectives and a Washington State Patrol crime scene team resumed the investigation Thursday morning at the one-story home on Osborn Road northwest of Sequim.
The man being investigated in the slaying of Josephine Lejeune, longtime live-in partner Stephen O. Skrzynski, 47, remained in the Clallam County jail Thursday on $500,000 bail.
He is scheduled to appear in Clallam County Superior Court today at 1 p.m. for prosecutors to file formal charges against him.
Domestic violence alleged
He is being held for investigation of second-degree domestic violence murder.
During his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon, Skrzynski said he was innocent and that he did not touch Lejeune.
The woman’s body was found on the rear patio of their shared home Tuesday evening in an unnatural position with visible head and face injuries that appeared to be from a blunt object, Sheriff Joe Martin said.
“What the discussion is now is, how she died,” Martin said Thursday. “We’re waiting for more reports from the autopsy.”
