AGNEW: Woman killed when car runs off road

AGNEW — A Sequim woman died after her car ran off Old Olympic Highway early Thursday morning.

Anne Saulino, 51, suffered fatal injuries at the scene near Madsen Road, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Trooper Aaron Hayes said Thursday afternoon that he was still investigating the crash.

Hayes said he had not discovered any evidence that speed or intoxication contributed to the accident.

Clallam County Prosecutor Chris Shea, who serves as the county’s coroner, said his office would order an autopsy if necessary to help close the case.

Saulino was westbound on the highway when the 1963 two-door Buick Skylark convertible veered to the right side of roadway, the patrol reported.

She then overcorrected, crossing both lanes and striking the opposite ditch embankment, troopers said.

The road was dry at the time of the 7:10 a.m. collision.

Saulino was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

The accident blocked Old Olympic for about three hours, until 10:30 a.m.
