PORT ANGELES — People are satisfied with the two airlines now flying between William R. Fairchild International Airport and Seattle’s Boeing Field, according to a survey of almost 500 people conducted by the Community Airline Task Force.
And the respondents are not willing to pay a lot more for a direct connection between Port Angeles and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the survey showed.
“A big part of the survey was finding out how necessary a Sea-Tac connection is, and if people would be willing to pay more for it,” said Russ Veenema, chairman of the task force of the Port of Port Angeles, which operates Fairchild airport.
“We found people have been pleasantly surprised with how the Boeing connection has worked, and aren’t willing to spend the extra amount required for Sea-Tac,” Veenema said.
But that doesn’t mean the community or airlines will stop trying to figure out Sea-Tac service that might work, he said.
It just means that Sea-Tac connection might be further in the future than first thought, he said.
