FORKS — A 25-year-old woman pedestrian has died from injuries she sustained when she was hit by the front center of a pickup truck last night.
The State Patrol says the 19-year-old driver of the truck fled the scene after the woman, a pedestrian, was struck.
According to a State Patrol report issued this morning, Aamanda Louise LaGambina of Forks was walking westbound on Calawah Way shortly before 9 p.m. Monday when she was hit by an eastbound red 1990 Toyota pickup truck headed eastbound.
LaGambina, who was struck by the front of the truck, was carried 80 feet, troopers reported. She was taken to Forks Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The truck driver, identified as Garrid James Larson, 19, also of Forks, was later located and booked in Clallam County jail for investigation of felony hit-and-run.
The State Patrol report said neither drugs nor alcohol figure into the incident.
