Americana-blues band comes to Port Angeles Concert on the Pier this Wednesday

PORT ANGELES’ CONCERT on the Pier hosts its next-to-last band of the summer Wednesday.

Performing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. will be Sweet T and Justice (Americana and blues).

Two other weekly outdoor concerts on the North Olympic Peninsula — Sequim’s Music in the Park on Tuesdays and Port Townsend’s Concerts on the Dock on Thursdays — ended their summer runs earlier this month.

The last Concert on the Pier will be Sept. 9 by the Old Sidekicks (old country and bluegrass).

Held on City Pier and sponsored by the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce, Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department and local businesses including the Peninsula Daily News, Concert on the Pier’s every-Wednesday performances began this summer on June 24.

Dancing is encouraged during the performances

City Pier is a kid-friendly, dog-friendly, no-smoking, no-skateboards, no-alcohol venue.

Some chairs are available for the disabled and early arrivals to the concert. There is a snack and beverage vendor.

Concerts move to the roofed Gateway transit center, Lincoln and Front streets, if there’s rain.

“Bubble Man” Greg Bondy provides entertainment for kids at Concert on the Pier with chalk for pavement drawing and a bubble-making machine.

For more information about free concerts and other music events, check Peninsula Spotlight, the weekly arts and entertainment magazine included in Friday’s Peninsula Daily News — and consult the North Olympic Peninsula Events Calendar at www.peninsuladailynews.com.
