PORT ANGELES — Aramark Parks and Destinations will be awarded a new 10-year concession contract for Log Cabin Resort in Olympic National Park.
Aramark has been managing the resort, located on Lake Crescent about 20 miles west of Port Angeles, under a temporary contract since 2012.
“During the temporary contract, the park has made numerous improvements to the facilities to improve the visitor experience, and will undertake an improvement program during the term of the 10-year contract,” according to a statement issued by park officials.
Aramark operates overnight accommodations, food and beverage, retail, non-motorized boat rentals and related services at the resort.
The company also manages Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort, Lake Crescent Lodge, Fairholme Store and the Hurricane Ridge Gifts & Snack Bar, all within Olympic National Park, and Lake Quinault Lodge in Olympic National Forest.
As required by the 1998 Concession Management Improvement Act, the National Park Service solicited proposals from April 30 through June 25 for the Log Cabin Resort contract.
