Arson suspected in early morning fire

PORT ANGELES — Authorities suspect arson was the cause of a fire at the State Patrol’s weigh station east of Port Angeles this morning.

An accelerant was used to start the fire, extinguished by Border Patrol agents who observed it at 1:45 a.m., the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said.

The building received minor damage.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
