PORT ANGELES — Edmonds Community College writing professor Holly Hughes will read from her newest book, Sailing By Ravens, at Peninsula College at 12:35 p.m. Thursday.
The reading is co-sponsored by Peninsula College’s Studium Generale and Foothills Writers Series. It will be held in the college’s Little Theater at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
Hughes is also the author of the prize-winning Boxing the Compass, co-author of The Pen and The Bell: Mindful Writing in a Busy World and editor of the award-winning anthology Beyond Forgetting: Poetry and Prose About Alzheimer’s Disease, released by Kent State University Press.
Hughes has taught creative writing at Edmonds Community College for more than 20 years and has taught writing workshops at Edmonds Write on the Sound, Fishtrap, the North Cascades Institute, Field’s End and LitFuse, among others.
