FORKS — Autopsies were performed Tuesday on a couple who died in an apparent murder-suicide in Forks.
Clallam County Sheriff’s Detective Lyman Moores said detectives expect to determine the cause of death today through the autopsies performed in Port Angeles.
Brenda and James Grant died Tuesday from apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
Moores said investigators believe that James Grant first shot his wife in their bed before sitting in a chair in the same room and shooting himself.
He left a suicide note on the kitchen table asking that someone take care of the children and reiterating his intentions to kill himself and his wife, Moores said.
The couple’s two children — a boy, 11, and a girl, 5 — were asleep in the house at the time.
The children were placed with family members, Moores said.
Services for the couple have not been scheduled.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Drennan-Ford Funeral Home.
