PORT ANGELES — Ballots for the Feb. 13 special election will be mailed today in both Clallam and Jefferson counties, where voters will be asked to decide on funding for schools and health care.
Ballots will be sent to all registered voters.
The deadline to register before the special election is Feb. 5.
Voters in both counties will be asked to approve tax levies for county school districts, and in Clallam County there is a hospital district levy.
Clallam County voters will be asked to approve levies for the Crescent and Cape Flattery school districts and Clallam County Hospital District 1, which covers Forks Community Hospital.
Jefferson County voters will be asked to approve levies for the Queets-Clearwater, Brinnon, Quilcene and Chimacum school districts.
Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day and those returned to county drop boxes must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
