PORT TOWNSEND — The Shady Grove band will bring the sounds of the 1960s folk era, with songs by the Kingston Trio, the Brothers Four and Bob Dylan, to a Candlelight Concert at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday night.
Admission is a suggested $10 donation for adults, though children are invited to come free to the 7 p.m. performance at Trinity, uptown at 609 Taylor St.
Proceeds from this concert series benefit Port Townsend charities and Trinity’s music and historic Victorian restoration program.
Shady Grove includes Larry Costello, Chet Rideout, Don Fristoe and Lee Goldhammer, who blend vocal harmonies with six- and 12-string guitars, banjos, mandolin and string bass; on music by the likes of Dylan, Crosby, Stills and Nash and the Everly Brothers.
The foursome has a CD, “One More Song,” to be on sale at Thursday’s show.
Trinity’s doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and refreshments will be served following the performance.
